In the summer of Broken Rules, you have Meredith. A girl who just got her heart broken by her boyfriend in the worst way possible. And travels to her family’s cottage for a wedding. A place where she grew up and made new friends every summer. But there was a catch, it was the first time the family gathered since Meredith’s sister passed. While reading this book, you will find it very fascinating. After her break up Meredith finds comfort in her family and meets new people along the way. I wouldn't say this is a mystery book, but it definitely is a book that draws you in and makes you wonder what is next. It is filled with adventure and curiosity. The story is in one place and filled with a few twists and turns. With a little bit of drama to reel you more into the book. You’ll find out things you didn’t think you’d find.

In the book, Meredith goes to a family cottage in hopes of finding distraction after being broken up with. She finds comfort in family and friends as they come together for her cousin’s wedding. As well as a summer game they all play together called “Assassins” Along the way she learns new things and finds a friend along the way. After her sister passed, it was the first summer she was back at the cabins. Creating anxiety and nerves. But being there reminded her of her sister Claire, bringing the family together.

I would definitely read this book, especially if you are a hopeless romantic. This book is definitely one of my favorites by far. You’ll learn a few things along the way when reading it. I would give this book a solid 9/10.
